It is a tradition in Wayne County to have a Spring Festival every year that involves all of the elementary-age kids. The music teacher at the school puts it on. Here is Brayden doing his dance.
We were warned, back in December at the Christmas Operetta, that the Spring Festival can last four hours. However, when we arrived that night we were told that it only feels like four hours since you're packed into the gym like sardines, and sitting on bleachers.
Although it did go a little long (two hours), I thought it was much better than the Christmas Operetta. Each grade did some kind of dance, and sang songs. The fourth graders did a maypole dance (which Caleb loved). The second graders did a dance using a 30 foot parachute (which Dillon LOVED). As much fun as the evening was, Caleb summed it up best when, during the second to last number, he said (in a loud Caleb-like voice), "Mom, isn't it past my bedtime?"
