Dillon's birthday part 2

Grandma Salisbury made Super Dillon, and Super George costumes.
Oh what fun!

Our little monkeys

Playing with a punching balloon

Dillon chose triple chocolate cupcakes. He's a boy after both his grandmother's hearts!
The sprinkles came through the line at Wal-Mart and I thought Todd had put them in the cart, but he didn't. So someone must have sneaked them in. I wonder who?

Dillon's new digital camera. I found it after Christmas for 50% off. Hopefully this will keep him away from ours!

Dillon's birthday part 1

Here's the birthday boy on his new bike! When he came into the livingroom this morning, and saw it there, the first thing he said was,
"but...there's no helmet?!"
Luckily, I bought a helmet, too, so we hurried and found it for him.

The boys spent the morning in Richfield at Home Depot's kid's class. They made race cars. Since Dillon is three, he is finally old enough to go.

While the boys were away, I "set up" the party. We had pizza, breadsticks, chocolate milk (Dillon's favorite) and Runts candy--our little monkeys liked the bananas best.

Thanks to Aunt Melece, we found a Curious George party plan on PBSparents.org. They had printable certificates, bookmarks, party masks, and coloring pages. We also had pinwheels, party blowers?, and silly straws.

I couldn't bring myself to pay $8 for a single round cake with a lame-o curious george toy (it would've broken in minutes) at the grocery store, so I printed "George" holding a bag of frosting and stuck him on cupcakes with a toothpick.

Brayden's First Grade Program (and mine, too)

Here's Brayden saying his part at his class program. We think he did a great job.

I told Brayden that I had the opening part in my first grade program as well, only I woke up with chicken pox that morning. When my teacher, Mr. Hollingsworth, found out about my six pox, he said to my Mom, "Oh, hell. Bring her anyway!" So I went to school and gave my line (I also sang a solo in the middle), and then missed the last two weeks of school.

Brayden and Caleb's first piano recital

The boys had their first piano recital tonight. For some reason, the recording of Brayden's performance didn't work, so we recorded him playing at home.
They've only been taking piano lessons for about 6 weeks now, but they chose to participate in the
recital anyway. It was "my kind" of recital. Just 45 minutes after it started, the refreshments were gone, the chairs were stacked, the lights were off, and we were headed for home :o)

Trying to learn Photoshop

This is what I've spent the last six hours on. Yeah, you read it right--I said SIX hours. I'm afraid that the "photoshopaholic" gene must've passed me by...'cause it's not exactly relaxing to me, like it is to my siblings. Hopefully I'll get better and WAY faster because I don't have this kind of time to waste on every page, but I really want to have my scrapbooks printed at Shutterfly in nice hardbound books that fit on a shelf.

I had to call my sister 10 or 15 times to finish this one silly page...and it doesn't even say anything! For some reason I am less intimidated by Brayden's art, then I am about photos. I'll try a picture next time...if there is a next time.

Longarmed and Dangerous

My valentine's present came in the mail today! Todd got me this apron to wear while I quilt (it will protect my shirts from getting snagged on pins).

For those of you who don't know, I use a "Longarm" quilting machine for my business.

Highlights of the day

Brayden learned today that our bishop's name is Bishop Morgan, not Bishop Rick. He also knows now, that a bishopric includes the bishop and his counselors :o)

For dinner tonight we had bean, cheese, and Mexican rice burritos. We usually add refried beans to ground beef, but tonight we decided to leave the hamburger out and we just warmed up the can of refried beans. As I was putting beans on my tortilla, Dillon yelled across the room (in a voice of warning), "No Mom, it's poop!"

No wonder he didn't eat his dinner...
