I've been "collecting" idea's for the boys' science room for forever, but I am at a complete loss when trying to decide on paint color(s). I have until Friday to figure out the paint and carpet, so if you have suggestions, PLEASE HELP!
The boys want a space room, but I'm afraid they'll grow out of it too soon, so any "space themed" stuff needs to be easy to take out as they get older. My sister designed these cute scrapbook papers for me, that I'll use to mod-podge on frames, or containers, or whatever to add some "space" to their room. (By the way, you can click on her "Scrappity" link on my sidebar to download any of her papers).
The bedding will be like picture on top, except the stripes will be navy, orange, lime green, and a bit of turquoise. We have two huge illustrated maps for one wall, that are blue/turquoisey in the background. The boys also have an aquarium, and we'll be using their microscope, volcano lamp, and bio-dome habitat as decor in the room as well.
I love this organizational wall from Pottery Barn:
I do have some corrugated metal in the back lot that I'm considering using as wainscoating (sp?) across the bottom of one wall, with moulding across the top. Is that too weird?
Any and all suggestions or idea's are welcome.

whatever you do don't be afraid to be bold. I love color.
I always like green but it sounds like a blue like the background of all your pictures might be best. Or maybe a really light gray with a bit of blue in it. I think the metal wainscoting sounds awesome. I love those tin can robots.
I also agree that the blue in the background of the potterybarn picture would be my vote. I heard a rumor that Home Depot is clearing out their Eddie Bower line of paint and it is on Clearance for $9 a gallon. I haven't been to HD to confirm it.
I am so excited to see what you end up doing.
Oh, here is another idea, you may have thought if it already, but it might be fun to paint a section of the wall with chalkboard paint. There is also vinyl that you can use as a chalkboard too. The vinyl wouldn't be so permanant.
I'd go blue but I'm really no good when it comes to decorating. Show pics when it's done!
I used colonial aqua in our boys room and I am going to use it in our bathroom too. Very similar to the background behind the robots....maybe a little lighter. I LOVE it it added color, but is calming!
I like the blue in the pictures too! It's a happy color and goes with the space thing I think.
